This dark brown tortoiseshell acetate pair of Persol sunglasses are one of the most iconic sunglass frames ever made. This model, the 649/4, was made famous by both silver screen icons Steve McQueen and Marcello Mastroianni. Launched in the 1950's, this pair of sunglasses was soon coveted all over the world. The glasses have the unique Persol 'Meflecto' system that gives the arm some flexibility to fit around different head shapes, while remaining comfortable, as well as the trademark arrow head logo on the temples. This pair is in 'new old stock' condition, having never been worn, and includes the original, but degraded, case and hang tag. Made in Italy, circa 1980.
